Homeowners are not the only ones purchasing fake lawn products. In fact, this month alone, we’ve seen a growing number of high schools and other academic intuitions make the switch to synthetic turf athletic fields instead of keeping natural grass. And Braintree High School is just another example. Located in Braintree, Massachusetts, Braintree High will be receiving two synthetic turf athletic fields later this month. Congratulations!
According to PatriotLedger.com, the $1.3 project is expected to be completed in time for the school’s fall sports season. The first artificial grass turf will be designated as a practice field, while the second will be constructed in the school’s stadium.
Artificial turf manufacturers as well as professional organizations such as the Synthetic Turf Council agree that the use of synthetic turf in high schools greatly reduces the sports field maintenance budget. Synthetic grass does not need to be watered, mowed, fertilized or maintained. And we all know that more money in the budget means more money that can be used for the classroom.
