The Cosumnes River College (CRC) Stadium can say goodbye to 40 years of unsafe and overused playing fields thanks to its new artificial grass field. The Elk Grove Citizen reports that CRC Stadium has just received a $14.5 million makeover, a project that also includes new bathrooms, concession stands, wheelchair ramps, and a modernized ticket booth.
According to the article, CRC Stadium endured 40 years of “dead grass,” — conditions that can be extremely daunting and expensive to maintain. However, the new artificial turf lawn field will be lush and resilient year-round, even in the rain or during months when natural grass doesn’t grow, making it a smart and safe solution for athletic fields.
And Cosumnes River College won’t be the only ones enjoying the new fake turf grass. The new stadium will also be used by Valley High, a school that has been using the CRC Stadium for 35 years. However, the school is also the only one in the Elk Grove school district without a new home field. According to the article, the district provided synthetic turf fields to three high school stadiums a few years back.
Rod Edmiston, Valley High’s athletic director, told the Elk Grove Citizen that the new changes are “absolutely awesome.” To learn more about our athletic-grade synthetic turf, please visit www.artificialturfsupply.com.
