As the highlight of the Nike Sports Complex expansion project, the Naperville Park District completed three artificial grass fields last week. The exciting project includes the expansion of an existing synthetic turf field complex, one refurbished field and an entirely new synthetic field. All three all-purpose synthetic turf fields will be ready for soccer, football and lacrosse when the complex opens on July 16.

A synthetic turf field can be used nearly 3,000 hours per year without rest — three times more than natural grass. In addition, a synthetic turf field is extremely flexible, which means the same field can be used for a variety of sports and other events.
