When homeowners, business owners, school administrators and other people make the decision to switch from natural to artificial grass at their homes, businesses or facilities, they are often left with many choices. This can include the look and feel of the grass that best fits the landscaping of their area and their needs. However, one decision can initially be more confusing than any other – trying to decide whether to purchase infill or non-infill artificial grass from a wholesale supplier.
Infill is the little bits of sand or rubber that is sometimes placed in between the blades of synthetic lawns. Infill has several advantages including the fact that it lets the grass blades stand up and look more like natural grass, particularly in high-traffic areas where the blades will be pushed down. In addition, infill can feel like soil, creating a sense of realism when walking on it.
However, infill can require additional maintenance as opposed to non-infill grass including increased routine watering. As a general rule, infill is only necessary on high-traffic areas such as playing fields, playgrounds or schools. For most home and business uses, non-infill artificial grass is perfectly suitable and can be a more affordable and easier to maintain solution.
