Do you want to take a sneak peek into the home of the future? Apparently it features artificial grass. Every year, the National Association of Home Builders hosts the New American Home, an extravagant show house built for display during its International Builders Show in Orlando. The annual show has become a major inspiration for builders and homebuyers interested in new trends. And we’re excited to announce that this year’s home featured artificial grass turf!
The 2011 New American Home was a luxurious four-bedroom house featuring a modern classical design and leading-edge green technology. The front lawn was beautifully landscaped with native and drought tolerant plants, representing the eco-conscious homeowner interested in saving on water and cutting costs on fertilizing and maintenance. In line with the same mindset, the backyard was carpeted with a beautiful, fake lawn. Other eco-friendly features included a solar-assisted heating-and air-conditioning system, solar hot water heater with gas backup and formaldehyde-free wood cabinetry, according to CultureMap.com.
